Healthy Habits

Today I’m linking up with Katie Did What.  Last week was the kickoff to her healthy
habits link up so this week I’m a little more prepared!
Well, I am down 14 lbs!
I am 6 lbs away from my minimum weight loss goal and 16 lbs away from my
maximum weight loss goal.  Do you think I can lose at least 6 by June 27th?  I’m flying to Poland and I know that I need
to lose as much as possible because I will most likely eat like a pig when I’m
over there.  It’s been 8 years since I
had my Grandma’s delicious pierogi (yes it’s spelled right, piergoi is already
plural) so you know I will be eating those FOR SURE!
I’ve already touched
base on this before, but you don’t need dressing
for your salads!  Yes, you read that
right.  As long as you put the right
ingredients in your salad you won’t need dressing.  My favorite thing to put on top of salad instead of dressing
is feta cheese.  Cheese is something that
I will NOT give up from my diet and it’s my dressing.  Dressing usually has a lot of calories and
ingredients that you can’t pronounce so why not go with the healthier choice
because well, we all know where cheese comes from.  The following is a picture of my salad the
other day, it was so delicious.
As some of you who follow my blog know, I’ve been quite the
injured person this year.  I went to and
finished Physical Therapy for my knee and then on top of that I had a very mini
surgery on my wrist.  So even though I
tried working out my body wasn’t ok with it.
I guess I took it too far when I was going to the gym a few months
ago.  I thought I was ok, but I
definitely wasn’t.  With all of that
being said I have found a few mini workouts that don’t hurt me as much, at least for me.
Abs-of course crunches, the bicycle thing you do with your
legs I just don’t push out my left leg all the way (too much strain on the
knee), and lastly I don’t know what it’s called but you start by laying
down.  After that you pick both your
upper and lower body up and almost curl up into the fetal position but with
only your lower back/butt touching the ground.
I’m not sure if any of this makes sense!
Arms-since your arms are connected to your wrists this has
been a bit of a struggle for me.  I’ve
only really found two workouts that don’t hurt.
Number one are planks.  I do these
and take a rest then do them again.
Secondly I do baby girly pushups.
I used to be able to do pushups so well and now I can barely do a girl
pushup.  I try and do as many as I can
before it starts to hurt.
Legs-When it comes to my legs this is so hard for me because
I used to love “leg day” at the gym but this is where my knee started to bother
me.  I have a syndrome with my knees but
I also have damaged cartilage.  In my
opinion I think it stems from the fact that I’m naturally pigeon toed.  Anyway, I try to do mini squats.  This means I do squats with a kettle ball.  I only do a few after doing my Physical
Therapy exercises because I want to strengthen the muscle around my knees so it
won’t hurt as bad.

Last but not least, I do a little bit of yoga at home.  My dogs do it with me as well.  They like to lay down underneath me when I’m
in downward dog.  Making them move to do
a lunge gets quite interesting.

  1. Hey there! I just popped over from the link up 🙂 That salad looks amazing. I'm pretty sure I need a salad as big as my face, stat! I don't know about giving up dressing… But with enough cheese, anything is possible 😉
My family is Polish as well!! I can taste our pierogi just thinking about them 🙂
