If you’ve been reading my blog for the past few months, I’ve been talking about a huge announcement I would be making in 2019, and probably by the end of January. Well, the time has come!
WE ARE MOVING!
Top: Banana Republic (on sale!) // Pants: LOFT
I put in my notice at the beginning of this month to give them enough time to find my replacement because of how extensive my job is. I’m not going to lie, it felt really good to put in my notice. My blog has stated over the past few months that I’ve been pretty burnt out, and I’m ready to start a new chapter with a new job.
I’m not going to tell you where we are moving because I want to make it a surprise when we finally get there, BUT, if you are really super curious on where we are going, follow my Instastories (jerseygirltexanheart). I will try to document as much of this move as possible because we will be driving to our new home, and will be going through quite a number of states. I have a few posts scheduled so that I don’t fall behind on the blog, but if I’m not as active on my blog in the next few months, I promise, I will be back (said in Arnold’s Terminator voice haha).
This isn’t the first time we are leaving NJ. Back in 2012, I had packed up my life in the back of my VW Jetta and drove all the way to Texas to start a new life. That is where the “Texan Heart” comes from in my blog name. I will always have a spot for Texas in my heart. I obviously moved back to NJ with Lilly (my puggle aka my souvenir haha). I missed my family, and too many things were going on in my life at the time to be able to handle it on my own. My fiance also moved out of NJ when he was younger. He moved to PA because that is where he went to a technical school after graduating High School.
The reason why we are moving, is because my Fiance and his brother started a business and the location is out of state (more on this in a different post, stay tuned). We also talked about it and decided that getting out of NJ is the best thing for us and our little family (our pups). We have a better opportunity elsewhere, because unfortunately, NJ is just way too expensive, and the quality of life here isn’t that great. I’m extremely sad to be leaving my parents, because we are a really close family (we only have each other, because everyone else is back in Poland), but I know that I’m still in the same country so I can always hop on a plane and go see them. I’m also trying to convince them to move too haha! It seems like so far, my dad is on board. We are currently trying to get my mom to take the plunge.
My blog will still stay Jersey Girl, Texan Heart even though I will be in a new state. I will always be a Jersey Girl, and I will always have a place in my heart for Texas! I know this announcement isn’t anything crazy like a wedding, or a baby, but this is a huge deal for us. We are really excited to see what this new adventure brings us and we are really excited to start this new chapter in our lives. I honestly cannot wait until y’all see where we are headed! Stay tuned for an updated post once we settle in and unpack a bit.

How exciting for you!! I love that your parents might follow on! We are in a similar situation and we want to move but it’s important my daughter lives nearby so we are taking it all into account. I think we’ve found an area that we can both afford. Hope it goes smoothly for you xx

I hope it goes smoothly for you as well! My parents and I are very close, so this distance is going to be so terrible.

Yay for your big announcement! I have been waiting for it! Safe travels, my friend, and may the move go as smoothly as possible! So whenever you do visit New Jersey, do let me know. So if I am in the area and you have time, we can meet for coffee. Unless, of course, you do convince your parents to go with you, then you probably won’t visit NJ all that often!

Moves are a HUGE deal!!! Very exciting, but I’ll say my first thought was what about your mom? Now you’ve got her blogging and y’all are so cute together. I hope you can convince them to come along…eventually. Congratulations!!!!

Yes, I know, I think the hardest part is leaving my mom. However, I think my parents will move too though!

First of all, congratulations Monica! This is such exciting news and truly excited for the adventures ahead. Secondly, I can relate to the sad part about leaving family behind. Most of my family are in the Philippines so like you, my parents and brother are the only family I have too. While we didn’t move states when we decided to move, it was still pretty hard to do so because there’s nothing more important than family, Lastly, congratulations to your fiancé of starting his own business. That is very cool. I hope your week is going well so far and happy Wednesday!

I didn’t know that you were first generation here in the U.S.A. too! One of my friends was born in the Philippines too! When she got married over the summer, her and her husband had a Filipino tradition happen at their ceremony, it was beautiful! Thank you for all of your well wishes for me and my fiance.

Congratulations on the move—I can’t wait to see where you end up! I moved clear across the country five and a half years ago, and it changed my life for the better. Good luck through all of it!
