Your Own Twist Linkup: A New Style To Try In 2020

Ok, I cannot believe that another month has flown by.  Michelle and I have been doing this linkup for over a year now, and every time that we get together for the monthly linkup, I just can’t believe another month has come and gone.  It’s crazy that life has been going by much faster lately.  I feel like I need a week to just be a lazy couch potato to kind of make the time slow down a little bit!

I didn’t realize, that this set of photos has been sitting in my drafts for a little while now.  I know that this Your Own Twist Linkup theme is supposed to be styles that we are going to be wearing in the new year, and even though these photos were taken in 2019, I want my style to continue in this direction.  It’s not really too different for me, but I feel as though even though I’m constantly evolving, I still stick with my “punk rock/emo” roots.  I know that last picture is a little vulgar, but it’s how I’ve been feeling lately.  If you read my new year’s post, I got a little personal in that one.  2019 was a year of growth for me, and I definitely had to say fuck you to a lot of people.  I’ve decided to carry that attitude into the new year, because I’m so done with people walking all over me and taking advantage of me.  I got better with that last year, but I honestly have no more fucks left to give.

Call that brutally honest, but I’ve always been one to tell it how it is, and as I’ve gotten older, I’ve noticed what actually matters to me and my life.  I’ve learned that self care can sometimes be letting go of toxic people.  Even if those people have been in your life for a long time, and even if they are family.  It’s always hard to let go of people like that, but you have to do what’s right for you and your health.  Toxic people exist to tear you down and watch you fail.  Unfortunately, they like to project their insecurities and struggles onto you.  They need to feel good about themselves, and the only way they can seem to do that is if they bring you down.

Monica, I love this outfit so much! And I have all heart eyes that your boots match your hair. You know I am all about the punk rock, emo look as well and I would wear this in a heartbeat. So stinking cool and totally bad ass. And you just keep being you…you are that girl who can stand up for herself and release the toxic people from your life with a big ole fuck you! Be proud of that quality because there are lots of people who are unable to do that when they should.
