Storytime: The universe is testing me
Y’all, the universe has been testing me this week. It all started Sunday night. I took blogging pictures and edited them as I do every Sunday. After that I always upload them into my media gallery so that I can have them when I’m finally ready to sit down and write the blog post. Well, on Sunday night (I host on Bluehost, but I use WordPress in case you’re wondering), I went to click Add Media and nothing was happening. Then I noticed that there was no spot for a Title AND my Yoast SEO plugin was completely gone at the bottom of the page. I freaked out a little bit, but my fiance told me not to panic because it’s probably just a glitch and to contact support the next day. My blog was appearing normally and working, but on my end it was not.
Will my blog issue be fixed?
I contacted support on Monday. They fixed the problem and I was relieved and said well, it’s almost time for me to go home, so I’ll just work on my blog post after I work out, eat dinner, and shower. Once I finally sat down, I opened up my laptop to start working all excited that I could finally get some work done. I was experiencing the SAME EXACT ISSUE. This is when I started to panic because I used to be really good at scheduling blog posts 1-2 weeks ahead of time, but lately with running our business and my Youtube channel taking up most of my time, my blog has not been top priority. The reason I tell you that is because this blog post you’re reading right now was written just a few hours before it’s scheduled to go up with the linkup.
On Tuesday, I contact support again. I’m talking to them for about 45 minutes (maybe a little bit longer) and they tell me that they need more time. This is when I gave them my email to message me once the fix the problem. A few hours later they tell me that they regret to inform me (I hate when messages/emails start off like that) that they couldn’t fix the issue, but that it looks like the theme is what is causing the problem because it’s not a theme through WordPress and that I should contact the person who made the theme.
Well, the last time I contacted the person who made the theme they didn’t really help me much and I needed to get my posts up. Which is why my blog looks so terrible and different. I’m currently using one of the free themes on WordPress just so that I can get my posts all finished and then worry about the theme later. With that being said, I do apologize for the appearance and the terrible organization of this blog currently.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
While this whole blog situation was happening and I was already stressing out, if you follow me on Instagram you saw my instastories yesterday where I had a few short clips of a storytime. The universe decided to test me even more. When I have to use the bathroom at our CBD Store, I lock up the front doors so that no one comes in while I’m in the bathroom. Of course, I have all of my keys on one key ring. I have my car keys, my house keys, and the store keys. I put them in my front pocket and they are usually stuck in my pocket so they won’t fall out. Then, I proceed to flush the toilet and as I’m pulling my pants up my keys somehow made it out of my pocket and fell into the already flushing toilet. I tried to grab them but I wasn’t fast enough. Of course, I called my fiance right away, and since we own the building we don’t have to follow a landlord’s rules of calling anyone, my fiance can do it himself. He comes to the store and tries to get them out without having to take the toilet apart. Well, sure enough this wasn’t going to do the trick. So he runs out to Lowes to get some caulk and a wax ring because he was going to have to take the toilet off and fish for my keys that way.
Thankfully, he was successful. He has this theory that because I’ve lost 10lbs, my pants aren’t fitting as skin tight as they were before so my pants were too lose to hold the keys haha. I definitely learned my lesson though.
With all of that being said, if my blog is a little meh for a few weeks, I am working on it. I just currently do not have time so it’ll be a process. Let’s get into the linkup, shall we?

Hey hey, girl! First of all, this outfit is on point! I love the plaid pants, your freaking badass shoes, and that adorable baby Yoda tee! And your fingers up in “eff you, universe” mode is such a classic photo! I love it. Second, the theme you chose for the interim is not nearly as bad as you made it sound on messaging last night! Really, it’s not. So don’t fret too much about it and take your time getting to it so you can make it the way you really want it. It is easy to navigate and it really doesn’t look bad at all. Third, I have a tendency to loose keys if they are not secured somewhere, so all of my keys are attached to a carabiner hook so I can hook them onto my belt loop when they are not hooked onto my purse. So my recommendation is to go get yourself a carabiner hook for those keys and make sure you always wear belt loops to the shop! Sending you lots of hugs and tech patience!

I hate when those glitches happen! My wordpress has been very annoying lately as well. And if it’s not the platform then it’s the lapotop…Oh the joys of blogging!

Blog issues are the worst. I really hope they are able to fix the problem and that you can get the posts up and running the way you want. I actually don’t mind how it’s set up now. Love the plaid leggings and that hat is darling on you!

Oh, my goodness, on flushing your keys!!! At least your fiancee is handy enough to remove the commode himself!

Blog issues are the worst. It’s just so frustrating. I had a similar issue – where the blog wasn’t working right due to a theme. I ended up having to replace my theme too. While I understand that this isn’t the theme you want, it’s not horrible by any means, so don’t fret over it.
Great outfit! I love the hat!

That was a lot to handle for sure and the fact, you still had a link up is definitely deserves a kudos! So thank you for working your butt off so that your fellow bloggers can have a link up. That’s really kind and sweet of you. On another note, I am sorry to hear about your keys falling off. That must have been really frustrating and I am glad it all worked out in the end. Lastly, I love think look! It’s laid back with a pinch of sass! You look great too and those plaid pants are making me wish for fall already!

Ugh, blog problems are the absolute WORST. I’ve been there so many times where support isn’t helpful and things don’t get fixed properly. Heck, it’s been two years since my last blog malfunction and it’s still not totally fixed. Ugh. And the keys are just the worst icing on the cake! So sorry all of this happened. Fingers crossed next week will be better.
Miles of smiles,
Grace
