MY UPDATED SKINCARE ROUTINE
I’m calling this my updated skincare routine, because about a year ago I shared my skincare routine in this post. I’m constantly playing around with my skincare routine and either sticking with certain products that work, or updating it to new products. There are some products I’m still using that I did in the last post, but I did also add a few more things to the list. Let’s just get into this updated skincare routine of mine!

THE PICTURE THAT BROUGHT ON THIS POST
As you can see in the picture above, that was the one that made me want to post an updated routine. The reasoning behind this is because I shared this photo on Facebook (thanks Facebook memories), and said how I was so dumb to constantly go tanning in my younger years because of the wrinkles I have today. I would lay out in the sun all day, and STILL go to the tanning salon. This photo isn’t even that old. It’s from 2014, so that’s just 7 years ago. Which means that less than a decade ago, I was still making bad choices when it came to my skin. I didn’t start a rigorous skincare routine until about a year ago. Prior to that it was very on and off, whereas, this is the first time I’ve stuck with a regimen for this long. Although, I will say, there have been a few times during this pregnancy that I missed a morning or night time routine. However, I’m still trying to go strong, so let’s get into the routine, shall we?
MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE
My morning routine has changed a little bit since last year, I mean I really only added one more step which was adding sunscreen. While I know there are specific moisturizers that have SPF in them, I’ve really come to love my current moisturizer that doesn’t SPF in it.
Step 1: Cleanse
I’ve been using Hale & Hush Quiet Wash Cleanser. My husband saw that I was using it one day and all of the sudden he shushed me and I said why are you doing that? His response was the wash is quiet so that’s why he was shushing me haha. I do also love anything by Paula’s Choice, specifically the Hydrating Cleanser.
Step 2: Serum
After I’m done washing my face, I use the Hale & Hush Rare C Serum. I do also love this serum by Paula’s Choice. Can you tell that I really like Hale & Hush and Paula’s Choice? I usually use these interchangeably because Paula’s Choice is a bit expensive, although I do love their products too. Usually when I splurge around the holidays or even my birthday is when I’ll buy myself some products by Paula’s Choice.
Step 3: Moisturize
If I’m being honest, moisturizing is my absolute favorite part of my routine. I love the smell of my Ziaja products. This is a brand that was made in Poland and I’m pretty sure every woman in my family has used it. Of course, the U.S. is limited on the products they can get from Ziaja, but I have been obsessed with the Goat Milk line. Another great moisturizer that I recommend is of course, one by Paula’s Choice that I was using previously.
Step 4: Sunscreen
The final step for my face in the morning is to add sunscreen. I’ve been using the Hale & Hush sunscreen, but it is a bit thicker, so if you’re not a fan of that, this definitely isn’t the sunscreen for you. If you’re looking for a moisturizer that has SPF in it Paula’s Choice has a great one. If you’re looking for a great bundle for Paula’s Choice, this is one I highly recommend.

NIGHTTIME SKINCARE ROUTINE
My nighttime routine is a little more complex and has a few more steps to it. It’s also because I have way more time at night than I do in the morning so I can really take my time and practice self care with this routine.
Step 1: Take off makeup
First and foremost, I take off my makeup with Neutrogena wipes, I swear by these. I know they’re more expensive than the generic brands, but I think they work so much better. However, if I’m wearing heavy eye makeup, I’ll use the Clinique Balm because it helps break it up and get a lot of it off.
Step 2: Cleanse and spin brush
I use the same Hale & Hush Quiet Wash Cleanser as I mentioned earlier to cleanse but this time around I use my Duvolle Spin Brush for some extra exfoliation. If you’re looking for a less expensive option (because I only use the small heads it came with) this is a great alternative a well.
Step 3: Retinol
Once I’m done with that, I’ll apply the retinol. I’ve been using the Hale & Hush Retinol, but I’m honestly not a fan of the smell of it. It’s supposed to be fragrance free, but it has a weird smell to it. I’m not sure if retinol is supposed to smell that way or not. However, I’m thinking of going back to the Paula’s Choice one that I used to use.
Step 4: Serums
This part of my routine is constantly changing, but I have been using this Goat’s Milk one by Ziaja, followed by this lifting serum by Ziaja.
Step 5: Moisturize
Of course, after all of this is done, I finish it off with my favorite part; moisturizing. The night time moisturizer I use is the Goat’s Milk one by Ziaja, but of course the night cream not the day cream. I forgot to mention this before, but when I apply moisturizer (especially around the eye area), I’m very gentle and I’m not pulling my skin or anything like that.

EVERY FEW DAYS: EXFOLIATING
I want to say about every 3 days or so, I use this gentle exfoliator by Ziaja which is part of their Goat’s Milk collection. I’ll use this at night time before my entire nighttime routine. On the days that I use this exfoliator, I won’t use my spin brush because there’s no need to exfoliate that much.

NEWEST ADDITION DUE TO PREGNANCY
Now that I’m pregnant, stretch marks are definitely something that EVERYONE talks about. Personally, I don’t mind stretch marks, I call them tiger stripes, but if I can keep them to a minimum I will. In addition, I do know that stretch marks also depend on genetics.
Step 1: Soothing Oil
The first thing I use is this Soothing Oil. I massage it over any places that have gotten bigger due to pregnancy weight gain. Those areas are mostly around the belly, boob, and leg area. I haven’t seen any stretch marks forming yet, but I feel like I’m not really big enough yet to even have them. Currently, I’m at a weight that I’ve been at without being pregnant. It’s just my belly is much larger haha.
Step 2: Massage Lotion
The second step to this, is just the lotion. I use it in the same exact places and just massage it all into my skin. Both of these products have the typical cocoa butter smell, so if you’re sensitive to that smell whether it be during pregnancy, or just on a normal every day basis, I don’t recommend them.
