YOUTUBE AND AT HOME OFFICE SETUP
If you read my post in July, I mentioned that my Youtube setup was changing again. In that post, I did show what my old studio looked like. If this is your first post of mine that you’re reading, the reason why I had to downsize my setup is because I’m pregnant. The Youtube studio was converted into the nursery. With that said, a lot of things changed. My space is much smaller, I had to change my lighting and how I film. Not to mention, because we have our own business, I’m able to switch to working from home, which is why I now have two computers instead of one. In a recent video, I very briefly went over my new filming space.
In past videos that I’ve filmed in the bedroom because I had no choice, people have complained about the “bathroom door” being opened. However, there is no bathroom door. The way this house was built back in the 80’s, I guess the designers thought just a bare walkway was fine and no door was needed. It’s weird, I know.
With that said, because we’re renting this house, we want to keep holes in the wall to a minimum. A lot of commenters gave great advice on how to cover it with a curtain and a rod, no holes required, if it does become a major issue with viewers. One person even mentioned having a backdrop, which would have been ideal, but I don’t have room for that. The only way I could do that is if we drilled holes in the ceiling and had the backdrop be kind of like a projector screen. My chair is so close to the dog stairs that I have to slowly move my chair in order to not hit the stairs. This is all just temporary for now, but I truly hope it’s not an issue for viewers.
What I find a little ironic is the fact that my husband and I never finished my last setup because of how busy the shop has been over the past several months. Which I guess was a blessing in disguise so to speak because little did we know that just about a month after we updated my last space, we would find out that I was pregnant.

MY DESK, COMPUTERS, CHAIR, AND MORE
Obviously, this setup is much smaller than having an entire room to myself. Not to mention, I had to purchase new equipment. It’s also not fully finished because we still need to hide the wires and install more of my pink lights. That was put on hold due to getting the nursery together. My husband wanted to get me at least setup to the point where I can film for Youtube, and work from home for our business. The aesthetically pleasing updates will happen in time.
- Desk: The desk that I got is currently unavailable but I’m going to link it anyway for once it comes back, but it’s super easy to assemble. It’s not really anything special, but it’s perfect for my little corner and for what I’m using it for. Plus, it’s pink, my favorite color. However, I did find some other desks that were a little similar here and here. They’re perfect for small spaces where you don’t need drawers or anything like that.
- Gamer Chair: Some of you reading this might recognize that chair. Yes, it is the Pewdiepie chair, the 100 mill and LED edition to be exact. If you’re wondering, yes “it can do this.” I haven’t tried to recline that far because I’m pregnant, but my husband did and yes, it goes all the way back. My husband definitely splurged on these chairs for the both of us (he too has created a little setup for himself). It was the last splurge before the baby comes. This particular chair is expensive, but they do have some that are the less expensive version of this but in different colors. They even have a light pink and white version (in a different brand) as well if that’s the aesthetic you’re going for. I just really love the Pewdiepie chair.
- My Youtube Computer: Believe it or not, the computer on the left hand side (the black one with the light up keyboard and mouse), I built myself. Back in 2018, my husband and I went to Microcenter and he helped me pick out everything I needed for a computer build. I did write an entire blog post about how to build a computer. That post is a step by step tutorial with pictures as well so if you’re looking to build a computer that post might help.
- My Work Computer: My husband purchased a computer specifically for work. I’m definitely going to eventually get a mechanical keyboard for my work computer because I just like those better. However, that’s something to do in the future because if I do that, I’m getting a pink one haha! I linked the computer from the Walmart website, however if you have a Sam’s Club Membership, it’s actually less expensive on their website (click here).
- Ring Light: If you remember from my last post about my setup, I spoke about how I would need to change my lighting. I was using box lights, and those only work in a larger space. Which meant that I had to purchase something smaller, and I couldn’t think of anything better than this ring light. I did a lot of research on Youtube when it came to looking for a ring light. Ring lights can be very harsh on the eyes, but I also didn’t want to sacrifice having a bright light because the bedroom can get dark at times. This side of the house doesn’t face the sun so I have very limited natural light in this room. The ring light doesn’t blind me and if you watch any of my recent Youtube videos, I think the lighting looks very natural and nice. This ring light does have a tripod option for a camera, but I’ve been using my one tripod that I purchased last December. This tripod now works in my new space, whereas it didn’t work as well in my last one. Due to the setup, I needed a taller tripod so that I could be farther away from the box lights. That way there wouldn’t be those harsh shadows. As soon as I moved myself, I stopped receiving comments saying that the lighting made me look terrible. I didn’t think it was that terrible. When you hear it over and over again about how the lighting does nothing for you and makes you look older, you find a way to change it.
- Camera & Accessories: I haven’t changed my camera, the camera lens, or the other accessories from my last post. I’m still using the same camera, lens, microphone, batteries & charger, and memory card. To be completely honest, I don’t see myself changing anything besides my microphone (I know, I know, this is a reoccurring thing I say). This equipment gets expensive very quickly and I’m happy with my camera and everything else besides the microphone. However, at least, while I’m filming in the bedroom, the echo isn’t as bad as the last youtube setup because this room is jam packed with furniture. I want to thoroughly research microphones once I have time. Because if I’m going to spend money on a new microphone, I want it to be something that will last.
- Décor: I found this adorable coffin décor from Michael’s. We didn’t have a Michael’s in our town last Halloween season. So, I didn’t get to experience the pink and black Halloween theme. That just meant that this year, I had to go. Sadly, they didn’t have a very large selection, not like any of the photos I saw online. At least I was able to find the coffin along with a few other little things. It goes perfectly with the pink desk and spooky season. My plan is to one day make a spot specifically for our wedding where we have a picture, my bouquet is on display and I can add this coffin to the mix since it says Till Death do us Part.

Bassinet: Target
THE BASSINET
I’ll give y’all a little sneak peek of what’s to come with the nursery reveal. However, this kind of ties in with my new setup. The new setup was done the way it was because we knew we would have the bassinet in the bedroom. Please excuse the dog hair on the comforter, I literally just washed our bedding prior to this photo. However, if you look at the below picture, it shows why there’s dog hair all over. In past posts, I’ve gone over the horror stories of trying to find furniture and things for the nursery. Well, once we hit the jackpot at Target several weeks ago (we had to drive to a different Target that’s a little farther away), we found this bassinet.
It was the only sturdy one we found in store. There were other ones but those were so flimsy. Those bassinets just didn’t feel safe. Which is why we decided on this one. Apparently it has lights, sounds, an an auto glide option. Will we ever use these options? Who knows, but at least we have that as an option regardless. I’ll be honest, we also have no idea what we are doing so there’s that haha!

Look at how cute our girls Lilly and Zero are! Even though, they’re shedding like crazy and causing this bed to be covered in hair. They’re getting groomed this week, so hopefully that helps. We can’t wait to see how they react to their newest sibling!
NEW STORAGE BINS
Just to provide another update that we did in the bedroom, we added these storage bins/shelves. There was a post where I recently spoke about having to also clean the bedroom for the new setup. In the second photo where you can see a Barbie Doll in my converse (that Barbie is for a future Halloween post), there used to be cardboard boxes there. Those cardboard boxes were storing my shoes, hats, and belts. We moved from NJ to Florida, and I didn’t want to fully unpack. I knew we wouldn’t be staying in this house forever, so I left a lot of my stuff in boxes.
However, I will say, it’s nice to have all of my things in storage bins because it’s way easier to look at what I have. Where my new setup is used to also be things stacked that I just didn’t have a spot for because I didn’t have enough storage space. I had a lot of purses just stacked on the floor. Those purses are now in these storage bins. My husband bought these storage bins from our local Sam’s Club. You can also build them differently. If you prefer to have it horizontally you can do that. The reason why we went vertically is just because of the way our bedroom is set up. Not to mention, the limited space we currently have. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for something simple.
STAY TUNED
Stay tuned for the nursery reveal that will be happening on Thursday. I was originally going to add the nursery reveal in this post. However, I’m still working on all of the finishing touches.
