Ok, so I know what you’re thinking, what the hell are you doing wearing these kinds of clothes in Florida right now? Y’all, I felt left out ok! I see all of these winter outfits being posted everywhere, and it has not been cold enough to wear some of these outfits. It has gotten down to the 30s/40s here, but it’s not a consistent cold temperature. We are in the panhandle of Florida, so we do sometimes get colder days. I felt a little left out, so even though it was in the 70s, I wanted to wear an outfit that is meant for colder weather.
I would be lying if I said I wasn’t sweating by the end of taking these photos though!
I wanted to say thanks so much for all of your support on my last post here on the blog. I was not expecting anyone to even bother reading it, because, well, it was entirely too long. However, all of you who have been following me for quite some time, you know this is a place where I get all of my thoughts out. With Youtube being the platform that it is, it’s also a place where I can vent and talk about things, but the blogging community is way more supportive than Youtube. I’m not sure why that is, but maybe it’s because of the beast that is Youtube. Another thing that is great about the blogging community, is it’s a place where people are able to agree to disagree. Whereas on Youtube, a lot of people will fight that their opinion is factual until they are blue in the face.
Lately, I’ve hit a bit of writers block. Which is why I haven’t written much here on my blog. It’s also because I have to do so much research for each one of my videos. There are days where I feel like I’m back in college, researching for projects or research papers. There has been a ton of things going on in life too. Especially with my dogs. If y’all follow me on the gram, you already saw Lilly’s cone of shame. For anyone who asked about that, she’s fine, but here’s what happened.
Last week I noticed she was limping, but because she’s so old and jumps off the bed like a lunatic instead of using her stairs (I think she’s in denial that she’s a grandma), I thought she had just landed on her paw a little wrong. The next day she was still limping, but again, I thought she would be fine once she started walking on it a bit. When I came home, her paw was double the size of her other paw. My fiance and I wanted to take her to the emergency vet, but we decided let’s take a further look at it. I know that the grass here in Florida is more like straw, so I figured she might have gotten a piece of grass lodged into her foot. With that being said, I separated her toes (I don’t know if they’re actually called toes, but y’all know what I mean). Once I did that, I noticed that she had licked the inside of the one toe raw. We decided that because we knew it wasn’t broken, it was just an open wound (we did soak it too), we’d wait until the next morning to go to the vet.
When I woke up on Wednesday morning, she had licked the ENTIRE toe raw. There was blood everywhere. It turns out that she had licked her paw so much that it caused inflammation and an infection, which is why it was double the size. The cone of shame is no match for Lilly though, because I’ve still caught her licking her paw even with the cone, and the cone causes her to slice the wound and reopen it again. We are going to the vet again to see what they say. She’s probably going to need a bigger cone which would be hilarious because she’s already bumping into everything with the one she has now. Her sister Zero likes to wag her tail into the cone so I hear the noises, and please don’t judge me, but I laugh haha. I know, I’m a horrible person for laughing. Because of all of this nonsense, both of the girls have been coming to the store with me everyday. Lilly can’t be left alone because she keeps finding ways to lick her paw, and Zero is bonded to Lilly so she can’t be left alone. I left her alone the day I took Lilly to the vet and went straight to work afterwards with Lilly. When I came home, Zero was a completely different dog. She looked so sad and depressed (she’s been diagnosed with separation anxiety in the past) and I’m going to assume that she thought we abandoned her.
Anyway.
I want 2020 to be the year where I don’t let this blog take a back seat. Last year was pretty crazy, and I ended up not being able to post a lot. I also did not have the same amount of sponsorships that I’ve had in previous years, but that’s my own fault for not applying myself. This blog is my baby, and I’ve worked way too hard on it for it to just disappear. I also want to issue a huge apology for not engaging with all of you and not responding to comments. It’s been really hard to keep up with EVERYTHING. Now, I understand why influencers and bloggers have assistants and managers. I mean, they are larger influencers and have wayyy more going on, but when you have more than one job, it’s so hard to do everything on your own. Especially, when you don’t have the funds to hire an assistant haha!
With all of that being said, let’s move on to the weekly linkup with my mom!

Ok, I’m just getting back into the swing of things so I’m going to need to hop on over and read your blog from last week. In the meantime, I feel ya on feeling left out. Those couple of days in the 30s and 40s were so fun. Back to the 80s for us this week. ugh!

I love this cold weather look on you, Monica! Even though you are sweating half to death wearing it. I am so sorry that poor Lilly is having problems and then Zero gets the emotional part of it. Parenting is a struggle, for real, whether it’s human kids or furry ones! I am dealing with lots of vomit this morning from my little one and I am bracing myself for it to sweep through my entire house…of course, while my husband is in Louisianan for the next 3 weeks. Ugh. I feel you, my friend! Hang in there!

I love those teddy bear coats but they are impractical for a Wisconsin climate, however, in a Florida winter you might find them a bit more practical.

Oh, haha, you’ll get used to the FL weather and after awhile not even have too many warm clothing items! Too bad for you pooch, so sorry about that. Best of luck with *all* of your endeavors, you’re one busy lady!

It’s been the same in our neck of the woods! It feels like summer most days because it’s so hot outside. It’s a different story inside our home but we got heaters for that! :p I love your pink fuzzy cardigan. It looks very cozy and looks really nice against your black outfit. Of course, the pockets are my favorite too. I am just obsessed with pockets. It helps with my awkwardness in photos though I need to remember not to shove my hand all the way in when I do! Yeah I know, third world problem! I am sorry to hear about Lilly. That sounds so bad especially because I am sure it’s super itchy for her. Keeping my fingers crossed that it gets better soon. And I agree, too much to do with blogging. I can’t keep up either so I just do what I can. I wish we didn’t have to keep up with so many social media channels but it is what it is, right? Well, I hope you are having a great week so far and happy Wednesday!

Your fluffy blush coat is really cute with your black outfit! I am so sorry about Lilly’s paw! Tough on both the fur baby and her fur parents! Wishing her a speedy recovery!
