THE PERFECT MAXI DRESS FOR PREGNANCY AND AFTER PREGNANCY
Today I wanted to share the perfect maxi dress for pregnancy and after pregnancy. It’s great because the straps are adjustable and so is the bow in the front. This maxi dress is loose fitting and while it was in the maternity section, it’s definitely not constructed like maternity clothing. What’s also great about this maxi dress is the color scheme makes it perfect for a transition piece into fall from summer. You could easily wear it with a jacket and some ankle booties for a more fall look. Especially here in Florida where it stays hot until about end of November, early December.

HOW TO WEAR THIS MAXI DRESS AFTER PREGNANCY
It’s pretty obvious that this maxi dress is perfect just the way it is for pregnancy. With it being loose and adjustable, it’s perfect for the ever growing belly. However, after pregnancy, if you’re planning on working out to get to your pre baby weight, it’ll probably be a bit big. With that being said, belt it! I put belts on anything that is a bit too big. It looks cute, and it’ll accentuate your figure. If you’re savvy with sewing you could easily alter it yourself as well if it ends up being that big.

DON’T STRESS ABOUT GETTING TO YOUR PRE BABY WEIGHT
Something I do want to add to the discussion, is while some women might be very adamant on getting back to their pre baby weight, don’t stress out about it. I know society tells us we need to get back to that pre baby weight. Once I have the baby, I’m sure I’ll be bombarded with messages from people saying they have the perfect shake or workout program for me to drop the baby weight. This is a very common MLM (multi level marketing) tactic. However, don’t listen to those people.
If you want to lose the weight, do it at your own pace. On the other hand, if you don’t want to lose any weight, that’s ok too! There is too much pressure put on new moms, and moms in general. Moms have enough to worry about that pressuring them to lose the weight, or asking them when they’re having their next baby is uncalled for. You do what’s best for you. Although, make sure to practice some self care as well because mom’s well being is important too.

A NURSERY UPDATE
Well, Sunday was when we were going to buy all of the furniture for the nursery. Keyword, WAS. Unfortunately, there aren’t very many places to go where we live because we live out in the middle of nowhere. We even tried to look at Pensacola which is the closest major city to us. Even though that would be a bit of a drive, it was worth a shot at least browsing online, and we came up with nothing. The first stop was Target and there was nothing on the shelves. There was barely any stock there for a nursery, and for the necessities we need like a car seat, stroller, etc.
I’m at 30 weeks this week, so it’s getting down to the wire. However, after about ten minutes my husband and I left because that’s how frustrating it was to be there. After that we sat in the work van (we purposely brought it to pick up furniture) researching other places to go. Most things weren’t even open on Sundays, and other places weren’t opening up for another few hours. We took my blogging pictures and then decided we would go eat breakfast somewhere.
Sadly, we ended up not eating breakfast anywhere because every single place we went to either was jam packed or was almost done serving breakfast. By the time all was said and done it was 11am. We tried one more furniture place that said they opened at 11am but come to find out that’s incorrect, their doors said 12pm. Needless to say we ended up just going home after that empty handed. With that said, we still don’t have anything for the baby besides two onesies I got from a friend, and a diaper bag.

Monica, this dress is so cute! And I am dying over your sandals and cute bag, too! As far as getting ready for baby, honestly the first few months you can get away with a bassinet and a car seat and a boppy pillow! But you do need diapers and more clothing for bebe, too! Did you make a baby registry online anywhere? Even if you don’t want to share the registry, it helps to get you organized for what you need. FYI…cloth diapers are the best burp cloths so skip the skimpy cutesie burp cloths, they don’t even absorb anything! Do let me know if I can assist with anything or if you just want to chat about this stuff…brainstorming with other moms is also very helpful!

I’ll probably be emailing you for advice after this coming weekend. I think we are going to go to Pensacola this weekend to try and see if maybe, just maybe we could find something. We couldn’t even find a bassinet that was safe. The ones we saw were so wobbly and I’m not about to put my baby in a wobbly bassinet.

Thanks so much! We aren’t super close, it is a bit of a drive, but that’s the closest city here in Florida to us haha.

I wish like it felt as good as it looks. It’s definitely been rough for me physically and mentally. As of today, we are officially two months away!
