DIY MATERNITY MILEY CYRUS WRECKING BALL HALLOWEEN COSTUME
I can’t take credit for this maternity wrecking ball Halloween costume because I saw it on Pinterest. Quite a number of people (if you do a quick Google search) remixed this costume as well. Of course, I had to test it out for myself as well which is why today, I’m showing y’all this DIY.

STEP ONE
First of all you have to purchase all of your items, obviously. I purchased a maternity top from Boohoo and a gray maternity band. The maternity band did come in handy outside of this costume though. My husband and I went through the Walmart toy section looking for a Barbie doll and we couldn’t find one that was just plain with blonde hair, so we chose this one with the swimsuit. It was close enough to the Miley Cyrus look because Miley did wear white, so I figured this would do. People will get the idea as to what this is supposed to be anyway if they know of the song Wrecking Ball. Or at least I hope so!

STEP TWO
I used dry soap to mark that circle on the top. However, I did put the top on first and draw it around the bump first, then I evened it out. I didn’t want to make it too big at first, but I didn’t realize how big my belly actually was. A suggestion is to start off with a smaller circle first and then work your way to a bigger one if you need it. Then I just cut it with scissors.

STEP THREE
Give the Barbie Doll a Miley Cyrus look. This was an attempt to go for the two bun look that Miley is known for. I know that she had her hair shaved on the sides in the Wrecking Ball music video, but I didn’t want to ruin the Barbie Doll in case I know someone who will maybe want it with the long hair.

STEP FOUR
Work on the chain. You may need pliers for the chain depending on how strong you are or how thin the chain is. I did use pliers from my jewelry making kit. Then I attached the Barbie Doll to the chain, and voila! An easy maternity Halloween costume that you can make the day of a Halloween party. I’m sure most people are probably celebrating Halloween via Zoom calls, but at least you can still have fun with it!

I CAME IN LIKE A WRECKING BALL!
This DIY maternity wrecking ball Halloween costume will be posted on Instagram at some point this week, and I can’t wait because I’m making it into a reel and using the Wrecking Ball audio. Then the song will be stuck in my head for the entire day haha! Anyway, let’s move on to the linkup!
