THROWBACK THURSDAY: HALLOWEEN EDITION (PAST HALLOWEEN COSTUMES)
Spooky season is my favorite season, which is why today we’re taking a trip down memory lane and looking at past Halloween costumes. I chose my top favorite past Halloween costumes and some of these are a repeat from last year’s past Halloween costumes post. I’m excited to do this post again next year because I’ll be able to compile all of my looks including my maternity looks. A lot of these are super easy to do because you might have some of these things in your closet already. Let’s get into it!

MINION MONICA
In case you didn’t know, back in the day I was super obsessed with minions and Despicable Me. I had a few things in my closet that were perfect for a minion Halloween look. The goggles I bought randomly one day and just kept them in my room. But that is my minion meets fashionista look.

FISHSTICKS AND CUSTARD
Who here is a fellow Whovian? I’m a huge fan of Dr. Who. David Tenant and Matt Smith were my favorite doctors, so I just had to dress up as my version of Matt Smith’s doctor. I got into Dr. Who thanks to my husband. He actually randomly texted me one day a long time ago and said that I looked like Amy Pond. I had red hair at the time, so that’s probably why.

WEDNESDAY ADDAMS
I’ve always been a fan of the Addams family and anything dark. Christina Ricci was one of my favorite actresses as a kid, and I loved her in Casper. That was the first time I ever saw her. She didn’t look like any of the other actresses that were always looking like the popular girls, and then there was Christina Ricci. This really pretty brunette that acted in the “darker” movies.

AUDREY HEPBURN
Audrey Hepburn is such a classic beauty. Like most people, I absolutely love Breakfast at Tiffany’s. That’s where this Halloween costume idea came from. I actually chose this for my Halloween look when my friend from Shelbee On The Edge and I started our Your Own Twist Linkup.

FESTIVAL LOOK
I bought fun colored wig a few years ago and decided to use it for a festival look for Halloween. It was so awkward finding an open field to take photos on where people wouldn’t wonder what the hell I was doing haha!

CRUELLA DE VIL
Cruella and Maleficent were probably my two favorite Disney villains. I just thought that even though they were so evil, they were interesting. I always loved that Cruella had two different colors in her hair right down the middle. This is probably my favorite Halloween costume to date that I did. It was so much fun creating it and it’s pieces I can wear and use for other costumes in the future.

MARY POPPINS
Mary Poppins has been a childhood favorite of mine for quite some time. This is my DIY Mary Poppins Halloween costume. It’s another one of these Halloween costumes meets fashion type of looks.

EDWARD SCISSORHANDS
I remember watching Edward Scissorhands as a kid. At the time I was in either first or second grade and I thought it was the strangest movie. I thought it was cool but at the same time I actually felt bad that someone would be stuck with scissors for hands. Last year I decided to dress up as Edward Scissorhands and I loved this look!

BITCHIN’ ELEVEN FROM STRANGER THINGS SEASON 2
I really miss Stranger Things, but I’m waiting patiently. However, it’s starting to get really annoying when they keep showing trailers for it and teasing us. Hopefully we get to see season 4 soon, but we shall see. Anyway, this Halloween costume is Eleven from Season 2 where she gets that little makeover and starts saying bitchin’ all the time.

YOLANDI FROM DIE ANTWOORD
Yes, I listen to Die Antwoord and I love it. They’re so unique both in how they sound and how they look. I can’t understand Yolandi and Ninja when they talk sometimes but I can get the gist of what they’re saying. Anyway, this was my Yolandi look and I even had the Zef shirt on as well.

ZOMBIE MAKEUP TUTORIAL
I used to be obsessed with The Walking Dead. There would not be a Sunday where I’d miss it. That was until they killed off Glen and even after that I tried to watch it. Then when I watched the episode of Daryl in the container with that one song that was playing over and over again, that was it for me. It’s the little things that piss me off haha. However, I still wanted to share this Zombie Makeup tutorial because I was very proud of myself for this one.
I’M A SLAVE 4 U
I’ve been a huge fan of Britney Spears since the first time I Heard Baby One More Time. I have made a Youtube video about the #freebritney movement (click here, but don’t judge it’s an older video) and her conservatorship. So much has happened since I made that video in July of 2020. I’m happy to know that things look to be changing for Britney in this conservatorship. The other day I watched the Britney Spears documentary on Netflix and I highly recommend watching it if you want to understand the timeline a little bit better. At our wedding after party I actually talked about #freebritney for about two hours haha. I’m dedicated to this topic because I truly hope Britney Spears will have her freedom soon. This conservatorship abuse has gone on for too long.

MERMAID MAKEUP TUTORIAL
The tutorial for this makeup look is pretty funny if I do say so myself. I used a stocking to get the scale look, so if you want to laugh and cringe at a super old video of mine I highly recommend watching it. Although I will say the makeup look itself came out alright.

WE CAN DO IT!
I think we all know who I was dressing up as in this photo. Rosie the Riveter, which is an iconic image that has been seen by generations and generations.

SCARECROW HALLOWEEN COSTUME
I don’t know why, but scarecrows never bothered me or scared me until I started watching Gotham. If you haven’t seen it, then you definitely should watch it. However, after seeing scarecrow in that it creeped me out haha.

“SHE’S OUR FRIEND AND SHE’S CRAZY!”
I absolutely love Dustin from Stranger Things. He’s such a great character to have. I was supposed to have a baby Dart in this photo just like Dustin did, but we didn’t have enough time to make one before Halloween came around. Last year we got married on Halloween, so my mind was preoccupied with that.

“I DUMP YOUR ASS”
Can you tell that I’m a fan of Stranger Things? As I said before, I am a bit annoyed at the constant teasing of trailers, but I’m trying to be patient. However, I do love this shirt. I had to buy a plus size because they ran out of my normal size, but I don’t mind the lose look. I think it’s still pretty cute and did the job for this look.

ROCKER UNICORN
This year will mark the 4th time that my friend Shelbee On The Edge and I have done a Halloween Your Own Twist Linkup. We actually matched the year that we did this unicorn head and it wasn’t on purpose either. Each year we’ve kind of matched each other which was fun to do.
